Events Committee
Speaker Coordinator - Do you have a contact list that makes your colleagues swoon with envy? Love to network and meet new people? Join the events committee as speaker coordinator. You’ll help coordinate presentations and logistics with our featured speakers. And with your networking prowess, you’ll be an active contributor when it comes to suggesting and connecting with future potential speakers. The estimated hours required to complete these tasks is 1-2 hours/month.
Registration Coordinator – The Registration Coordinator works to ensure smooth flow of registration; processes payments; greets event attendees. The estimated hours required to complete these tasks is 6-10 hours/month.
Speaker Gift Coordinator – This individual is responsible for obtaining speaker gifts. The estimated time requirement for this role is 4-6 hrs/month. This individual reports to the Speaker Liaison Chair.
Membership Recruitment Committee
Social Media Liaison – This individual spearheads recruitment efforts for new members, taking a leading role in the Fall and Spring membership drives. This individual creates specific communications campaigns that promote the benefits of AMA membership to increase the number of new members. The person in this role is responsible for submitting content to the Vice President of Communications and distributes weekly welcome e-mail messages to new LinkedIn members including AMA membership and events details. The Social Media Liaison reports to the Vice President of Membership Recruitment.
Group Membership Coordinator – Reach out to larger companies to offer them the group membership packages. Help facilitate the process with national. This position requires approximately 5 hours per week and reports to the VP of Member Recruitment.
Membership Retention Committee
Ambassadors – AMA Ambassadors act as hosts for events; greet members and non-members; fields inquiries. This position reports to the VP of Membership Retention and takes approximately 4 hours per month.
Renewing Member Coordinator – The Renewing Member Coordinator engages with members, inviting individuals to attend future events; welcomes them at events; promotes AMA membership during events. This role requires approximately 7-10 hours/month. The Member Recruitment Coordinator reports to the VP of Member Retention.
Volunteer of the Month Gifts Coordinator – The Volunteer of the Month Gifts Coordinator ensures volunteers of the month (VoM) receive recognition in communications; responsible for ensuring VoM gifts are presented during an AMA program. This position requires approximately 2-5 hrs/month and reports to Director of Member Retention.
UT Collegiate Outreach – Work with UT’s AMA student group. Reach out to UT and provide benefits to the student members. i.e. mentoring, sponsoring, speakers. This position requires 5 hours per month and reports to the VP of Member Retention.
Sponsorship Committee
Director of In-Kind Sponsorships – Evaluates existing in-kind sponsorship agreements; extends reach to `prospective in-kind sponsors; ensures in-kind sponsors receive ample recognition and thank-you notes. Requires an estimated 4-6 hrs/month. Promotes AMA membership and the AMA mission. Reports to the Vice President of Sponsorships.
In-Kind Sponsor Coordinator – Extends invitations to monthly programs, greets sponsors during events, assists with sponsor registrations; facilitate sponsor recognition; responsible for sponsorship renewals and maintaining contracts. 1-2 hours/month. Reports to the Director of In-Kind Sponsorships.
Director of Event/Cash Sponsorships – Establishes list of prospective sponsors; engages with potential sponsors and promotes sponsorship packages; increases number of cash sponsors for AMA events; ensures cash sponsors receive recognition and thank-you notes. 4-6 hrs/month. Promotes the AMA mission and membership in AMA. Reports to the Vice President of Sponsorships.
Communications Committee
Email Coordinator – This individual implements email communication strategies, modifies content and templates as necessary and executes email communications per editorial calendar. This person is responsible for gathering membership testimonials to include in email messaging. The Email Coordinator can expect to spend approximately 10-15 hrs/month in this role, where the person in this position reports to Director of Email Marketing.
PR Coordinator – This individual crafts quarterly press releases for media outreach; edits promotional content; updates community calendars monthly; updates Web site. 4-6 hrs/month. Reports to Director of Public Relations.
Copywriter – This individual assist in writing the copy for the newsletters and marketing material used in the chapter for promotion. The Copywriter reports to the VP of Communications and takes approximately 5 hours per month.
Designer – This individual assists the chapter in designing email campaigns, post cards, advertisements and flyers to promote the Austin AMA. The Designer reports to the VP of Communications and takes approximately 5-10 hours per month.
Technology Committee
Blogger – An AMA Blogger posts marketing insights, meaningful take-aways from AMA programming and other marketing-related material on the Austin AMA blog. This position requires an estimated 2-3 hrs per month and reports to Director of Social Media.
Google+ Coordinator – The Google+ Coordinator will develop and implement a strategy for Austin AMA’s use of Google+, as well as update Google+ page with photos, event details and programming information. Requires 1-2 hrs/month. Reports to Director of Social Media.
Pinterest Coordinator – The Pinterest Coordinator will develop and implement a strategy for Austin AMA’s use of Pinterest, as well as update Pinterest page with photos, event details and programming information. Requires 1-2 hrs/month. Reports to Director of Social Media.
SIG (Special Interest Groups) Committee
Special Interest Group Chair – Organizes and promotes special interest group programming to AMA members; facilitates discussions; oversees logistics. 4-6 hrs/month. Reports to the Vice President of Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
Finance Committee
Assistant Treasurer – Assists the Treasurer in registrations and budgeting. Reports to the Treasurer. Approximately 5-10 hours per month.
