Marketing Minute Monthly Newsletter
Welcome to the AMA Austin Chapter's monthly email newsletter. Each newsletter will tell you about upcoming events, how to get involved, and recent marketing articles.
Dear AMA Austin Members,
Greetings and a warm welcome to our friends in the Austin marketing community this fall. As we dive into November, let's take a quick look back at what we achieved in October.
This past month, we reaffirmed something we've always known – the unique magic that comes from both in-person and virtual events. While there's no substitute for the energy of face-to-face connections, our virtual Power-Hour event, "Marketing Horror Stories," demonstrated that the online realm can be equally, if not more, impactful. A massive shoutout to our VP of Membership and stellar moderator, Amy Kenly, and our brilliant panelists, Amelia Taurel Folkes and Virginia Case, who brought their insights to the table.
October served as a powerful reminder of the significance of partnerships in the AMA community. At the start of the year, we embarked on a journey to migrate our data onto HubSpot. Before this, our outreach efforts were a manual hustle with limited success. Fast forward to October, and we found ourselves running multiple campaigns and communication posts weekly. Remarkably, a single post garnered a 52% conversion rate for an event. This success story owes much to the expertise, support, and project management prowess of Jennifer Miller – Past President AMA, Founder of Strategically Connected, and a HubSpot Gold Partner. Jennifer not only spearheaded the entire implementation process but also ensured we were all well-equipped to maximize our HubSpot package.
For organizations seeking a game-changer in automating outreach and marketing efforts, we wholeheartedly recommend Jennifer from Strategically Connected. Her prowess extends beyond HubSpot, as demonstrated by the fantastic job she did with our all-new AMA Austin Website. It's been a transformative experience for the team, and trust me, there are more exciting things in the pipeline. Thank you, Jennifer!
Speaking of impactful partnerships, don't miss exploring our Career Portal. With over 1500 available jobs on the marketing job board and 1146 on the academic job board, it's a hub of opportunities waiting to be seized. Dive in and explore the potential that awaits.
As we gear up for another Coffee Meetup this Wednesday at Easy Tiger North, I'm eagerly looking forward to reconnecting with you all. It's a casual setting to share laughs, insights, and the unique spirit that defines AMA Austin.
Here's to the power of partnerships and the promise of exciting times ahead!
Best Wishes,
Francois Marais

Jell-O from 1973
Perfect marketing is getting this ad in front of somebody with too much leftover turkey, because I would have never have thought to turn it into turkey salad and then add it to the middle of a bowl-shaped clod of cranberry Jell-O.
