Every summer across North America, local and regional chapters of the American Marketing Association (AMA) submit award entries to be considered for a coveted Chapter Excellence Award (CEA). The process for assembling statistics, samples and surveys can be long and arduous as chapter leaders recount the goals established for the year and measure them against final outcomes. In doing so, we compose a story which illustrates the year’s journey – documenting the big wins and challenges we encountered along the way.

Austin AMA is honored

We are pleased to announce that AMA recently recognized the Austin, Texas chapter for Overall Leadership Excellence in 2012. This marks the second year Austin AMA received recognition in the leadership category, meaning that volunteers are effectively sharing knowledge and nurturing skills to help future leaders succeed while practicing the financial responsibility necessary to achieve long-term stability. With a deep and talented pool of volunteers, our local marketing association is poised to see significant growth while members gain increased member value. Thank you for your support as we continue to strengthen our local marketing community.

Momentum is building

In the coming year, we plan to host a marketing summit in Austin that draws marketers from across the country. We’ll also continue to host regular monthly programs and further develop our special interest groups (SIGs) to meet the growing needs of our diverse membership. Current SIGs include healthcare marketing, word of mouth marketing and (coming soon!) professional development. Austin AMA’s Board of Directors shares a strong, united vision to bring marketers together and grow their knowledge and relationships. These volunteers are supported by a long list of past leaders who share a passion for marketing and a desire to contribute positively to the profession.
