I am honored to be your incoming Co-President with Emaan Abdelbaki and I want to acknowledge the incredible leadership provided by now past president Jennifer Miller.
Despite a challenging year, all of us at the Austin American Marketing Association are looking to the 2021-2022 board year with a sense of optimism. It’s so inspiring to see how marketers have not only adapted to our new reality but embraced it. They are innovating, experimenting, and pivoting to achieve their goals.
The Austin AMA is able to connect these dynamic marketers in our Central Texas community through your commitment to our chapter and the many volunteers who make our programs happen.
I am excited to welcome the new and returning Austin AMA board members:
A special shoutout to all the committee members: Carle Aldrete, Taiwo Bolatiwa, Angela Brutsche, Jamie Burns, Sarah Jane Burt, Emily Carper, Virginia Case, Leigh Choate, Michelle Courtwright, Lani Dame, Daniel Doan, Cole Finney, Kayla Garz, Erin Hampe, Sunny Hunt, Ekaterina Konovalova, Susan Lambert, Steve Larkin, Michelle Loughry, Carlos Love, Shelbi Macfarlane, Andrea Marquez, Vicki McCullough, Sarah Mittal, Marissa Morin, Sarah Neal, Wesley Pollitte, Shreya Prasad, Elizabeth Rabaey, Dallas Richard, Theresa Rex, Krista Short, Karen Smith, Ryan Sonnenberg, Travis Summers, Adam Vanderbush, Armando Wagui, Michelle Vrudhula, and Josh Zelman. (Sorry if I missed anyone!)
We’re proud to be the place where marketers hang out, support, and learn from each other. But we’re more than just your friendly marketing club. Austin AMA is also the place to meet like-minded professionals who wrestle with the same issues as you and share your approach to problem-solving. It’s a place where you can go to get answers, find resources and even discover your next great gig. And it’s Austin’s premier source of enduring, valuable professional bonds.
This year our theme is to “Reconnect.” We will do this through a number of strategic initiatives that bring back in-person Marketing Mornings and Power Hours while continuing to embrace virtual book clubs, the job board, and exclusive member-only meetups. New this board year, we will announce the return of our signature Marketing Jam event and the launch of a new marketing awards program.
We can’t do this without our members, community partners, and sponsors. Thank you for being a part of our community. Expect to see communication throughout the year in our Marketing Minute newsletter, on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Meetup.
We look forward to meeting you at our next event and are proud to be the place Austin marketers call home!
