FEBRUARY 5, 2022 (Austin, TX) – The American Marketing Association (AMA) of Austin has announced the creation of a yearly awards program, the Austin Marketing of the Year (AMY) Awards, and will be revealing this year’s inaugural honorees at an awards ceremony and dinner on April 14th, 2022, at Soho House Austin.

This awards program will be the comprehensive awards program that honors Texas-based organizations, B2B, B2C, and non-profit marketing professionals that have developed and implemented cutting-edge marketing strategies and helped make Austin one of the most innovative and thriving business markets in the United States. AMA Austin plans to make this an annual event moving forward.

“The AMY Awards is an exciting way for marketers in our community to reconnect in-person to celebrate our successes together. We can’t wait to showcase all the talent professionals and their work in Austin during the inaugural event,” said Austin American Marketing Association Co-President, Christie Post.

The AMY program will include 19 award categories spanning from best-in-class multimedia efforts and experiential marketing events to noteworthy traditional media campaigns and industry thought leadership, with honorees coming from B2B, B2C and the non-profit business sectors. Award recipients will be selected by a panel of 15 judges made up of marketing professionals from Austin and around the country.

Marketing agencies, professionals and non-profit organizations based in Texas are eligible and encouraged to submit nominations for any of the open award categories. Nominations can be submitted on the AMYs website (www.amyaustinama.awardstage.com), where a list of the 19 award categories can be found.

The deadline to submit nominations is February 28th, with finalists announced April 1st.  The cost to enter is $100 for AMA members, $125 for non-members, and $20 for student entries. Judges will evaluate campaigns and initiatives that clearly demonstrate success over the past 12 months (February 2021 – January 2022).

“It is becoming increasingly more difficult for marketing professionals to successfully meet their goals in our overly-saturated messaging environment,” said Eric Berman, industry relations marketing director at Realtor.com and AMY Awards judge. “It’s truly a thrill to participate in the AMY awards to celebrate and learn from the successes of marketing pros in Central Texas who have excelled in their craft.

Award recipients will be announced at an in-person Awards Gala on April 14th, at Soho House Austin, 1011 S Congress Ave, Building 2, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78704. The event will feature an awards ceremony, dinner, and live musical performances. Tickets to the inaugural awards gala can be purchased on the awards website, amyaustinama.awardstage.com, and will be $165 for non-AMA member attendees.
