Happy New Year! 🎉

If your New Year's resolution is to expand your network and connect with fellow marketing professionals, then being an AMA member is your ticket to success. We're starting off 2024 with a bang by hosting a Member Mixer on Thursday, January 18th, at the fantastic Moontower Cider Company.

But that's not all—AMA membership comes with a bundle of benefits. You gain access to the latest research via our AMA Academic Journals, a treasure trove of marketing literature in the form of Marketing News, and a host of amazing events. Don't forget to explore the National Events page for a wealth of opportunities, and mark your calendars for the AMA National Virtual Conference: The Year Ahead in Marketing. Our very own AMA CEO, Bennie F. Johnson, will be a keynote speaker.

I'm thrilled to announce a new sponsor partner for AMA Austin, JTX Media, led by Jackson Tritt. They'll be taking care of our chapter's video production projects. 2024 promises to be an exciting year for your AMA chapter, with some big highlights on the horizon:

• We've kicked off January 2024 with a full board and a record number of volunteers dedicated to supporting all our members. Meet our incredible team on our Board & Leadership page.
• Our event calendar is brimming with opportunities for you throughout the year. Keep an eye on your inbox for our emails and regularly check our events page for updates.
• We're ramping up our use of HubSpot to better serve our chapter and its members.
• Collaboration is key, and we're partnering with other associations to expand our reach and provide more value to our members.
• In May, we'll be attending the National AMA Leadership Conference—a can't-miss event!

And don't forget our monthly Marketing Coffee Mornings—a perfect way to start your day with a cup of joe and meet new friends. See you at Easy Tiger North at 8 am on Wednesday, January 24th!

Join us for this exciting outdoor event at Moontower Cider Company as we wrap up the year and kick off the new one in style! This member mixer and coat drive event is free to all AMA members and $20 for non-members.

This is an outdoor event, and as part of our coat drive initiative, we ask attendees to both wear a coat and bring a coat. Coats will be donated to Coats for Kids, helping us spread warmth and cheer to those in need during these winter months.

Meet other marketing professionals in Austin and learn more about AMA Austin. Whether you're a seasoned member or new to the organization, everyone is welcome to attend our annual member mixer.

Volunteer call: Finance Volunteer

We’re actively seeking someone to support our finance team. This person would contribute to tasks such as reporting, budgeting, and presenting updates to the team. You do not need to have a background in finance, just an interest in learning and reporting.

Guest Speakers and Judges! 

Our local collegiate chapter of AMA at Texas State University is hosting their 15th annual Regional Conference on Saturday, February 24th, 2024 at the McCoy College of Business located in San Marcos. They are actively recruiting guest speakers to speak at the conference around the theme – “Be Intentional. Be Unstoppable!” – or about current marketing trends. The conference also includes 6 competitions for undergraduate students in the region to participate for a cash prize. They are actively recruiting judges for the following competitions – Marketing Strategy, Mock Interview, Perfect Pitch, Mini-Case, LinkedIn Profile, and Business Card. Volunteers will be provided with breakfast, lunch, and a parking pass.
